How do I condense a long, fun-filled day into a very short post?
First off, today was all about C. I've known her for over 10 years. We met at community college (back when it BCC and Bellevue College) during my freshman year. She asked to use some of my make-up and just started talking to me. The rest is history. :)
Three years ago she moved away to Austin and today was the first time I've seen her since then. Of course it took aaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllll day to catch up. And she's promised to not to let another three years pass before her next visit.
First, we met at Orange Blossom Society in Redmond. We had to stay around the Eastside since she was using a borrowed car and of course the ferry pretty much deters anyone from visiting me, so we had to find a place where the kids could play while we chatted up a storm.
Let me just say, Orange Blossom Society rocked my socks off! The girls loved it! It was like going to someone else's house and playing with all their toys and not having to pick up after yourself (though we did, sort of). The cost was minimal, it had low traffic and I didn't have to be constantly watching to make sure my kids didn't run off or get picked up by some yucky chester. We brought our lunch with us so we could eat and talk and play and eat some more. I just wish I'd thought to take pics there.
We did have a little incident with Britt and another baby. Apparently she was trying to help herself to a handful of his chubby cheeks (can't say that I blame her - they were delish). It made him scream and I felt horrible. Luckily, his mother was forgiving and even smiled at me later.
At 2pm we had to leave since open play time was over, so we drove around and continued our convo while the girls took their naps.
When they woke up we grabbed lunch at Taco del Mar and dessert at Mrs. Fields Cookies. This is where I confess that I wasn't the best mommy about food today since all Ash ate was chicken nuggets, apple slices, lemonade, and cookies. I didn't push it. We'll do better tomorrow.
Lastly we went to Kids Cove at Bellevue Mall, but that wasn't as cool since I had to watch the babes like a hawk - makes talking, listening, and eye contact a bit difficult, ya know.
Thanks for visiting with me C!!! See you again soon!!!

Totally forgot to take a pic of us today. This was taken the last time we visited. I think.

Sounds like the kiddos and the adults had a great time. I love meeting up with old friends too.
Jamie, you are hilarious!! I love the way you write. This looks like so much fun and the pics of your girls are adorable (naturally)!
It is so awesome to catch up with old friends. By the time you're done, your voice is gone and your full to the top with smiles.
Love it!
Old friends are the best.
Looks like you had a great time.
I so need to get together with my friends!!!! It's been awhile. I love them, but I hate that I'm the one that has to schedule and set up the get together each time we do it. One of my friends does not have kid's, nor does she work. I think she should plan the get together's. LOL
It looks like you all had a great time! We have one of those Kid Cove places here too.
sounds like a great visit! i hadn't seen one of my friends in 4 years and it was great to feel like no time had passed ... you start right where you left off ... old friends are the best!
Oh what a lovely day. I have too many friends that i see about that often myself. It's always such a treat to catch up.
