Did everybody have a good and meaningful Easter? I hope so. We spent ours with family. My dad's side of the family. We moved on Friday (drove aaaaaaaallllllllllll day). My dad was Superman and drove the moving truck so that Tony could drive our car so that I could keep three baby girls as happy as possible (I was about 50% successful). The Easter Bunny visited my girls early Saturday morning. The came out of their room and immediately began egg hunting and candy eating. Nice nutritious breakfast! We also unpacked and organized and went shopping on Saturday. On Sunday we drove 2.5 hours to my dad's parents' for church, dinner, and an easter egg hunt.
It was awesome.
And now is the let down. My dad has gone back home and I am far, far away from my family. I am so terribly homesick and heartsick and so are my kids. I think that even little Elle is sad (she has certainly been out of sorts since we got here).
That's life, right? Time will help it hurt less and we'll get settled in and find a new comfort and routine. I can't wait for that. Making friends isn't always easy for me. I'm not into upkeep, know what I mean?
One extra plus is that I'm now 4 hours away from one of my sisters and 4 hours away (in a different direction) from one of my brothers. So, we'll be able to see them a bit more often.
And now for the giveaway! I forgot how much fun these are. Should do them a tad more often, right? ;) I punched the numbers into random.org and the winner is........................
MommyMert! Congrats, girl! And thanks to everybody else for playing.
(britt collecting "canee" eggs)
(and ash taking a break in the gathering to taste some)

Looks like the girls had a great time at the Easter Egg Hunt. Next year I want to do one for our Grandson... this year he was a little young for that.
I hope you get to feeling better about your move. I hope it does get easier. Good Luck to you in your new home.
ooh... Hooray... but seriously.. you have enough to worry about. :) Sorry you are homesick. My kids are so close to G&G that I know that they would struggle if we moved. Ive never lived too far away, part of me thinks it would be nice. I know I would grow, but I would be homesick as well. You will make friends. You are a gem, who wouldnt want to be your friend?? :) We had a good Easter, just wish I could have been more spiritual... Luckily, I know he lives. :) Love you tons. Good luck with making some roots. xo
Moving is so hard. While I was looking forward to Bret finally starting dental school and we were only moving an hour-ish away, I was not looking forward to getting to know a new ward and a new area.
It has been fabulous. I've made some wonderful friends and while I miss my family (and yes, I still see them very often) it has truly been an enormous blessing for us to be out here.
Good luck!! I hope everyone settles in soon and you start feeling at home.
I'm sorry you are homesick. I think that is one of the worst feelings. We will keep you in our prayers, and hope you and your little family will find some comfort in a new place soon!
I'm glad to hear that the move went well and all of you had a good Easter. Here's wishing that all of you will get used to the new place soon. :)
I know what mean about making friends not being easy. I have that same problem. I've lived here 4 years and still don't have any real friends here yet. But it will happen in time. Hope you and the family get settled in.
:(. Good luck, it will get better!!
