Today I'm Showing Off My Cute Little Girl.

I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy for "What I Wore Wednesday."  I think the normal thing to do is take a pic of what you're wearing everyday for a week and then post them with an explanation of where each item came from.  I'm still not feeling all that super gorgeous since half of my clothes don't fit yet (post-baby belly), so I thought, "Why not share the wardrobe of the female with the MOST clothes in this family anyway??"  That would be Ash.  I do NOT apologize for the extreme ridiculous amount of clothes this girl has.  I'm an Ebay fanatic (and addict, just ask my husband) and the girl has gotten TONS of hand-me-downs from the aunts that are all just two years older than her.  Note: Ash WAS born on a Sunday.  So here we goooooooooo!

Monday's Child is fair of face.
Hair clip: Craft store in Utah.
Shirt: Old Navy.
Dress: Nartjie (auntie hand-me-down).
Leggings: Target sales rack.
Shoes: Mooshu Trainers (killer deal on Ebay).

Tuesday's Child is full of grace.
Dress & Leggings: Nartjie (another auntie hand-me-down)
Sandals: Knock-off Mooshu Trainers (Ebay)

Wednesday's Child is full of woe.
(Did NOT want to take pictures!)
Tank: Garanimals (Ebay)
Skirt: The Childrens Place
Socks: Ross (the ONLY place to buy socks in my opinion)
Shoes: Sketchers (Ross)

Thursday's Child has far to go.
Hair clip: South Korea (Ebay)
Bubble: Gymboree (hand-me-down from the aunts)
Flip-flops (Old Navy)

Friday's Child is loving and giving.
Clip: Target
Shirt: Old Navy (I bought a ton of these!)
Jumper: Izod (hand-me-down)
Sandals: Self Esteem (Ross)

Saturday's Child works hard for a living.
(Yes, she IS sulking).
Clip: Etsy - Monkey See and Monkey Do (love this seller!!!!)
Tank: Garanimal (Ebay)
Shorts: Gymboree (hand-me-down)
Sandals: Self Esteem (yes, she wears these a LOT!)

And the Child that is born on the Sabbath Day is bonny, and blithe, good and gay (happy).
Clip: Target
Dress: Gymboree (another glorious hand-me-down!)
Socks: Target (not my fave)
Sandals: Mooshu Knock-offs (Ebay)
Excuse the poor child's puffy eyes (I had matching ones).  Why they hold church at 9am, I have NO idea!

Today I Planned For Tomorrow.

I live on an island that can only be reached (or left) by a ferry.  When I want to go to Target, Old Navy, Joann Fabrics, Babies R Us, Walgreens, or any other such place I have to take a boat.  It eats up some time and money, so I try to lump all such errands into one trip.  So, I made a list.  And I hit up some of those great blogs that do all the foot work for you (as far as matching coupons with deals go).  I really have a million favorites but I thought I'd share just three of them for now.  Feel free  to click on their name under the logo and check them out!  My plans for tomorrow include: Babies R Us to pick up a special brand of diaper I want to try on Ash, Fred Meyer for produce, Walgreens & Rite Aid for super cheap toiletries, Bath & Body Works for their 75% off sale, and Target for everything else!  I LOOOOOOOOVE Target!  Too much.

Today I Wrote To My Brothers

I have two brothers serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Jacob is in Concepcion, Chile and Daniel is in New York City, New York (south).  I wrote them each a letter and emailed it to them.  Just giving them little updates on how our family is doing.  Letting them know that I haven't forgotten about them.

Jacob will be finishing up and coming home this December.  Daniel just got to New York a couple of weeks ago.  I served my mission in Houston, Texas over three years ago and I still miss it sometimes.  I'm so happy that my brothers are getting a chance to go away, forget their own wants and focus on what God wants, which is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of each of his children here on this earth.  I know that it isn't a cakewalk to be on a mission.  Sometimes it's REALLY hard and not fun.  Sometimes it feels like it's pointless and a big waste of time.  But, that's how everything hard and worthwhile feels at some point.  It's not supposed to be easy.  But, if endured well, it is worth it.

On my mission, I met a lot of people who have a piece of my heart.  I learned a lot about communication, about myself, and about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I had so much joy while teaching others about God's plan of happiness and I know that I made a difference.  **smile**  I also met my husband out there.  **double smile**

Jacob and Daniel are such amazing guys.  I love their sweet spirits and the example they have been setting for most of their lives.  I hope and pray that they will be protected, they they will be guided to those that need them most, and that they will feel peace and happiness with the sacrifice and service they are giving at this point in their lives.

Jacob with a Chilean friend.

Daniel with his trainer (who is from Sierra Leone, though his parents immigrated to the US when he was young).

Today I Went On A Date.

My sister, Kate, came over this evening to watch the beebies so Anthony and I could have an hour by ourselves.  We live in the middle of town so we could just walk around until we found a resteraunt that looked good.  We went to Homegrown Cafe.  It was the third place we checked out.  We liked it.  I had a guacamole burger and Tiger had some sort of steak sandwich with au-jus dipping sauce.  Our taste buds were happy.  Even though we were completely stuffed after finishing our dinner, we agreed to split a strawberry shortcake.  It was a real one - the kind that is more buttery biscuit than cake.  It was yummy.  My first one for 2010.  I really like date night.  :)

Today I Lost A Vacuum And Gained A Camera.

I found my camera!  It was under the book shelves in our living room.  :)

And my vacuum died.  We've only had it for a little under 5 months.  And I don't even come close to vacuuming religiously!  I'm so mad.  Think Target will give me my money back???

So, DON'T buy this vacuum.

Strike one: It's bagless.  I'm allergic to dust.  Hence, I'm now sniffling because I had to dump the canister.  Well, more like, I had to dig all the junk out of the canister since it doesn't simply fall out, when you want it to, Oh No!

Strike two: It spits dirt back out of its mouth (see picture of my kitchen floor).

Strike three: You have to run it over the same Cheerio five times before it sucks it up (so it can drop it on your clean kitchen floor later).

Strike four: It lives only 5 months.

You've been warned.  Do not buy this vacuum.

Today I Took Britt For Her 3 Month Well Baby Visit.

Wow.  My "little" Britt is 3 months old today!  Why does it feel like she's been around longer than that?

Anyhoo, she didn't like seeing the doctor at all.  Mostly she just hated getting weighed, measured, and listened to.  :)

But, my goodness!  She's tall AND chubby.  80th percentile in both weight and height.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised when the only three things she likes doing are eating, sleeping, and talking to me.  Not exactly calorie-burning activities!

And just in case you were wondering, Ash is 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height.  If you weren't wondering, oh well.  Now you know anyway.  Hehe.

My lil couch potatoes.  Don't worry.  When I realized Britt was actually watching "Baby Signing Time," I took the pic and whisked her away.  Too young for tv watching.

Today I Misplaced My Camera.

I have no idea where it is.  I really hope it turns up soon.  Little Miss Ash has a nice habit of hiding things.  I REALLY hope she didn't hide my camera in the garbage can!! I already took it out to the dumpster!!! Think positively Jamie.  It'll turn up.  In the mean time, no new pics for the  blog.  Poop.  :(

Today I Left Out My Floss.

And this is what happened to it.

Ash had great fun with it.

I wasn't able to salvage much.  Only a little was left inside the container.  Good thing I stocked up when there was a good sale at Target!

Today I Am Grateful For My Babies' Daddy.

Since it IS almost Father's Day and because I'm linking to one of my favorite blogs for Gratittuesday, I thought it'd be appropriate to spot light Hubster. This man is THE best. Sorry ladies. It's true. He's so sweet and patient with my lil girls. He also works hard as a graphic designer AND is chipping away at a college degree. He is such a team player. Love ya Tiger! You're the wonderful-est daddy EVERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Today I Sat In The Grass.

We went to the birthday party of three little siblings. It was nice to just chill on a blanket and watch the antics of the kiddies. The sun peeked out a bit too!

Today I Was Brave.

I don't do spiders. Just seeing them and their nasty, crawly legs gives me the chills and the heebie-jeebies. I'm not as bad as my mom and sisters, who can't even squish the darn things because it's "too gross." I'm sorry, disgusting and scary as they are, they're not going to walk around and help themselves to bites of my babies while I'm living!! I tell them (the spiders) that they should've just stayed outside - then they wouldn't have died. :) I definitely make sure to use a shoe or some other thick object so there is no chance of me feeling their bodies at all. *shudder*

Well, now that y'all know that about me - on to the story.

I was outside with Britt in my arms and Ash by my side. We were each enjoying the nature and beauty all around us, when (cue scary music) a ugly garden spider comes running up behind my unsuspecting Ash and starts trotting up her leg!!!! Fast!!! Yikes! I didn't even hesitate. The mommy instincts kicked in and I brushed it off her leg. With. my. BARE. hand.

I touched a spider! I feel like a hero. :)

Today I Didn't Wear Sunscreen.

Today was awesome. I got to sleep in until 11am. That NEVER happens. We went for a walk to the park and the local Saturday market as a family. I attended a wedding later in the afternoon. And then we (the fam) went to the beach in the evening.

We spent a lot of time outside and I fretted a bit about us not wearing any sunscreen. I go back and forth on the stuff to be honest. All the dermatologists say it's so important, but I've heard people talk about studies they've read that say skin cancer has gone up since sunscreen became highly used. Yikes! And then I read articles like this one here that state the most sunscreens on the market protect against sunburn but not cancer-causing rays. Wait, WHAT?!??!

So, I haven't purchased sunscreen for the year yet (haven't really needed too since we live in the beautiful, but cloudy Pacific Northwest), but when I do it'll be at the top of the Environmental Working Group's "good" list.

I still think I'll hold off on the application for 20 minutes though so we can get our Vitamin D!
