Today I Helped Assemble Gingerbread Houses.

It's that time of year!  I love gingerbread houses.  A friend of mine invited the us over to make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and butter cream frosting.  Yum!  I brought crackers and tons of candy and we had a blast.  They were super easy and the girls had so much fun.

(ash's is on the left and britt's is on the right)

Since it was butter cream and not something more hard, I let them eat their houses the same day.  They were so thrilled with that.  I thought that I should make them be decorations, but I have a large-ish nativity scene collection and there just isn't any more space for decorations that can't be hung on the wall or the tree.

I think Elle was feeling left out because right after we got home, she made a huge mess of her own.  That'll teach me to allow the older girls to take their snacks into the living room!  This picture only shows about a sixth of the size of her mess.  Good thing she's so cute, right?  I had to run back and forth between making dinner and vacuuming her spill.

(little stinker!  this baby is turning out to have a VERY strong personality!)

What have you been doing this Christmas season?  I wanna know because I still have to compile our Christmas bucket list!

How fun! They really turned out cute!

I've been making tons of cookies: Sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies sandwiched with chocolate between, chocolate malt cookies and gingerbread cookies with chocolate added (a new recipe that got good feedback). We have a bought gingerbread house, but haven't done it yet.

I love, love, love those Gingerbread houses! Ah, brings back memories - although we did make some with the preschoolers last year and they love it!

Our YW/YM just came back from caroling, it was so much fun and to see the sweet faces of the elderly enjoy our songs warmed my heart.

I'm so far behind on your blog! I love those little houses! I would love to do something like that with my boys, but I just don't have the energy.

I did wrap up all of our Christmas books and put them under the tree. We open one a day and read the book together. It's something simple and easy I can do with them. :)

How creative to make Gingerbread houses with crackers. Hehehe, Elle has a guilty cute look on her face.

I have been listening to lots of Christmas songs and singing along too. And visiting the malls to look at the beautiful Christmas decorations.

Let's see, what have we done this year...?

Decorated. Shopped. Watched Mickey's Christmas carol, pined for the next episode of Once Upon a Time... oh wait, that's just me... aaaand I plan on making some pumpkin bread and hot chocolate gift packs for friends and neighbors.
We're also going to go see the Christmas lights at the Mesa temple. Wish the Phoenix one was finished!!!

The boys made a paper chain and have been taking a link off a day till Christmas. They also made Christmas ornements with their pictures on it, it's on the tree.
We received as a gift a my first countdown to christmas book and we try to do the small activities in there. Next year I'll try to make an advent calander.
