Today I Grinned at Myself in the Mirror.

I have a funny little spot on my front tooth.  I think it's time for a teeth cleaning and whitening.  Wish we had dental insurance....

I'm thinking of just getting a teeth whitening kit.  There is a great deal going on right now for a Direct White Professional Teeth Whitening System.  It ends 11/7/11.  So I have until Monday to make up my mind.  Does anyone know if these are ok to use while pregnant?  Not that I have many more maternity months left, but still.

(i want her shade.  source.)

The cheap-o crest strips didn't do it for me, so I'm thinking I need to break out some big guns.  This looks like the real meal deal.  And it's hard to beat 70% off.

I had dental insurance...and it was crap. Seriously. I found a deal on LivingSocial or CityDeals or something for a $35 dental visit--cleaning, and checkup. Can't beat it. Also, the dentist has a "free whitening for life" promotion so I'll get trays and 2 rounds of whitener the first time I go in and more whitening gel every appt after that. I'd get the check up since tooth care is much more than cosmetic--especially while pregnant :) Good luck.

I wouldn't do it while pregnant. Buy it now and use it after the baby is born.

I have used tooth whitening but not while pregnant. I have sensitive teeth and most of them make my teeth hurt worse after using them.

Dental insurance is not all it is cracked up to be. We still have to pay quite a lot and they don't pay for whitening.

Its a no no during pregnancy. Both dentists I asked gave me the NO!!! while prego. Sorry friend. Unless you can get dental insurance through a company or need major dental work (crowns, etc..) the cost isnt usually worth the hoopla. Sometimes you can work it out with the dentists before hand if you pay in full/no insurance the drop the amount. You may want to call around. Whitening hurts my poor ol sensitive teeth. They do look pretty when they are done.

I agree with Keya. Buy it and use it later.

Good luck!

Ya, I agree with everyone's comments here. Better be safe than sorry. Buy but don't use it now. BTW, the dino photo gave me a shock!

I'm not big on whitening. It just doesn't seem natural. No judging if you choose to do it. I just wouldn't.

i honestly have no idea if it is good or bad while pregant but i wouldn't give it a try just in case. hubby says that stuff doesn't work anyway, hehe :)
