Today I Did Not Cry.

I didn’t cry because I took Elle to the doctor and the little bean weighs almost 11 pounds! **cheer** Which means she’s almost off the charts! And her head has grown a full inch around since she was born (my mom would say big brains need big garages). And she’s in the 75th percentile for height.

So even though Elle has been a totally random weirdo about nursing - when she does eat, it’s enough that she’s growing and staying healthy. All that frustrated sad sobbing I’ve been doing over this issue was a waste. Why do I stress out over things for no reason all the time?!?! Seriously, I have on several occasions in the past couple of weeks been a weepy puddle because my baby rejected me again and therefore wouldn’t eat. Completely pathetic.  And might I add, being rejected by a baby is the worst kind of rejection. In my opinion. I did figure out, a couple of days ago, that if I pump and put the milk in a bottle, she usually drinks at least half of it. Another relief. So – I’m not bawling and my baby is getting fat. Life is good.

(i've decided that when i don't have any good related photos for my post, i'll just stick in one of my 365 pics.  here's britt playing outside with one of her aunties and an old, broken stroller.)

P.S.  Oh, and Ash and Britt are getting along nicely too. Britt has completely accepted her baby sister and Ash is now acting baby-ish and insecure. I’m a tad worried, but am trying not to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I’m sure we’ll get it worked out. Kids have been acquiring younger siblings for many, many hundreds of centuries without long-term issues. Don’t sweat the small stuff, right?

P.P.S.  I just realized that all three girls have been very different growing newborns.  Ash was long and skinny.  Britt was short and fat.  And Elle is long and big.  Does that mean the next will be super petite?  Hmmmm.

I think it's pretty normal to stress about the baby not getting the right amount of milk! It was the most common thing women worried about in a baby class I went to once in awhile.

It's great Elle is growing. It's funny that all your babies are different in their growing. Both my babies were long and skinny. Mica had chunkier cheeks and Isaak had thunder thighs and more junk in his trunk.

I love Britt's picture with her aunt!

Not sure if my comment went through. But.... I am glad you are not stressing over this any longer.

I don't know how you do it with 3 little ones. I only had one and I remember not being able to even have a minute to myself. If I went to the bathroom..... she wanted to be right with me....

Don't beat yourself up! YAY....she's growing!!!! That is so wonderful! I had major nursing issues with number 3 (Lily) that I ended up supplementing with formula after breastfeeding....boy were those ever LONG feedings. (At 2 weeks she still wasn't up to her birth weight). Hugs to you!

Oh you sweet thing! It's all good, for sure. These things can be so stressful, but it sounds like you are doing so well. And Anabelle did the same thing as Ash, regressing a bit into babyhood, it's totally normal. What helped her through it was putting her in charge of little things for her sister, like "Bella, would you go get baby some socks? Thank you so much for your help!" It didn't take long for her to realize that she was a big sister now too.

Hang in there and hooray for no crying!

I hope you don't have to cry and worry anymore! Usually it will all work out in the end, especially since you are very observant and trying your best to keep. That's all we as parent could really do - try our best, right? Hang in there.

So glad to read she's gaining weight. And I think all moms stress. It's because we care and want what's best for our babies :)

Yes a baby's rejection is the worse. But don't fret over baby because she's obviously getting enough. Way to go, your doing an awesome job.
I love how siblings vary in size when their newborns. I love all the differences and the sameness too.

I like the way you slipped in the comment about the next baby. You should enjoy this one first while she still small... big but small! xx
