Today I Have a Fat Foot and a Semi-Skinny Foot.

Weird title, I know.

At the hospital where Elle was born, they pump you full of fluids when you have an epidural.  I think they give more than the other hospital at which Ash and Britt were born.  I have had majorly swollen legs, ankles and feet for a week!
This afternoon I noticed that the swelling has started to go down, but only on the left side of my body.

{insert confused face here}

So..................  what is going on?

(please ignore my poor toenails.  they haven't seen the inside of a nail salon since summer and it's not like I could bend over the watermelon and paint them myself!)

I hope this doesn't mean my right kidney is having issues.  Mom said it could be that I stand, or even sit, on my right leg more.  Which is probably true, but would that cause a delay in my deflating on one side of my body?

I just hope it all gets sorted out soon.  It is a very annoying feeling to be this full of water.

I've heard that the more water you drink, the less you retain. But I don't know if that's what's going on. Hope it gets better soon!!

I got swollen feet a couple years ago when I had a TERRIBLE, blistering sunburn on my legs. The swelling freaked me out! But it eventually went down.

Oh Geeze... I hope you aren't having kindey issues either.

Seems strange that one side stays swollen and the other is going down.

I'm sure you'll be fine. I had Miss Piggy feet 1/2 of my pregnancy with Mica. "Miss Piggy Feet" became my nickname while I was prego. After he was born I thought it would go away. WRONG! It took 2 to 3 weeks to loose the fluid. My aunt that is an OB RN told me that eventually you pee it out. Strange, but the fluid has to come out somehow.

It's probably sitting on one leg, sleeping on one side or just the way the fluid is being distributed in your body.

They say it helps to elevate your leg/foot above your heart. Laying down and prop your leg up on pillows. I'm sure you don't much have time for that. My husband used to massage my fluid back up into my upper leg. That worked for like 30 mins.

To be safe you could always call your midwife just to ask. In my opinion no question is dumb! Doctors get paid lots of money. They should answer our questions.

The same thing happened to me after I had Aaron! They t old me to put my feet up as much as possible until the swelling went down. It took about a week.

I hope your swelling is something similar and nothing serious!

Are you going to visit the doctor about this?
