Today I Had to Remind Myself to Take It Easy.

I have been feeling more energetic with each day.  My body is slowly flushing out all the excess fluid.  The baby is a really good sleeper (except for one night, which I will tell you about late in this post).  Today I got all ambitious and started to attack my sorely neglected to-do list.  Then I noticed an increase in aches and bleeding.  Not a scary amount, but enough for my body to get the message across.  "Wait!  Hold on!  We're still healing here and will be for many weeks to come.  Stop doing and go take a nap."  So I did.

As for Elle's one and only bad night so far -  she was up with terrible gas from 1am to 4am (Saturday morning), just about screaming non-stop.  And I know why.  Dairy.  I had been suspecting that might be an issue when she got a bad, bleeding diaper rash not long after coming home.  I had chicken alfredo that night and thought, "If anything will show me whether she truly has a dairy intolerance, this will."   Worst.  Night.  Ever.

I'm now completely off dairy for as long as I will be nursing Elle.  It's not going to be easy, but totally worth it.   I'll trade ice cream for sleep any day!  Feel free to e-mail me your fave dairy-free recipes.

(elle looooves her woombie.  it's the easiest swaddler we've ever had.  it does look kinda hilarious though.)

I'm going off dairy after I have my baby too. I went off before I got pregnant (to see if it would help me lose weight. meh. I dunno. Sugar would probably be a better thing to give up too.)
I've lived dairy free before so it won't be terrible. I'll miss ice cream and fro-yo. But almond milk is tasty.

Oof... Sorry about the dairy thing. Why are your kids allergic? Were you or Tony? I will think about some good recipes for ya. She is just absolutely beautiful though. Glad you reminded yourself to slow down. Been there, done that. Its hard when you have more than one. Glad you listened. :)

My daughter had a dairy problem when she was younger. You are lucky you found the problem fast.

She is such a cute happy looking baby

aww, makes me sad to think of a screaming Elle. i can't imagine not having ice cream {i am an ice cream addict} but def. for a good reason. she is super adorable in her swaddler. so cute.

have a great day and glad to hear that you are getting more energy and that the fluids are getting out. kinda sounds funny to say that but not sure how else to say it, haha.

Oh my gosh, I pushed myself too soon after EVERY one of the girls was born. And I had c-sections! But it feels so good to get back into some form of routine, doesn't it? I'm proud of you for listening to your body, though. And I wish I had some delish non-dairy recipes for you!

That woombie is so cute!! Sometimes I wonder if Sky had a dairy sensitivity...like a mild one. OR, if he had colic. :( I never went off dairy but am definitely going to pay better attention when the next one comes.

Keep reading my blog, many of my recipes are dairy free...from main dishes, to side dishes and everything in between.

That woombie is cute, I've never seen that before. You could also try soy products like silk, and some soy ice cream if you ever crave for it.

I remember Tabatha projectile green vomiting after I had Sweet & Sour chicken. It amazing how they react to your food!
I've never heard of a "woombie", but those are so cute.
