Today I Got Ready for Saint Patrick's Day.

Do you do anything fun to celebrate for St. Paddy's Day?  It's always been a big deal at my mom and dad's house and I hope to make it as exciting for my own kids (when they're old enough to really care).  I did complete a couple of pins I pinned on Pinterest (say that 5 times fast).  I didn't take any pics of the finished products because, well, I'm lazy and they look the same as my pins anyways, so I'm just re-posting the pics that made me interested in the food in the first place.

(source.  this is in the fridge, minus the bananas, waiting for tomorrow's breakfast.)

(source.  i made this for hubster.  i will definitely be stealing a little piece.)

(source.  i'm in the middle of making this now.  i'm giving it to my mom and dad's family.  they'll be so shocked when they cut into it!)

Pertussis Update.  Britt isn't coughing at all.  I'm guessing this is because she got onto antibiotics first.  I don't know.  Some of my family doesn't believe it is pertussis.  We shall see.  Ash coughs at night.  A lot.  And in the grocery store to embarrass me.  Elle is still coughing randomly all day, some days more than others.  But nothing scary anymore.

Also, I've been busy putting together Britt's birthday party.  She'll be two next week, though we aren't having the party until the 31st to give everyone time to be as cough-free as possible.  We're doing a mushroom/gnome theme.  I'm soooooo excited!  And I realized that I never posted any of the pictures from Ash's third birthday party in November.  So, I'm editing them and will post a tush load of pictures as soon as they are ready.  Anybody else beyond bummed that picnik is shutting down.  I need another easy picture editing site!!!!

And just for fun, last year's St. Pat's post

You little creative St. Paddy's girl you! What great ideas!! I'll be wearing my green and keeping my eye out for a mischievous Leprechaun running a muck!

Those are so awesome and look really yummy, too! I'm glad to hear that things aren't too bad there. Hopefully the worst is over for you! :)

We are going to put green food coloring in our milk and leave a trail of rolos to a few goodies, to make it look like a leprechaun came to visit. I may have to copy your fruit rainbow, though. That looks SO yummy!

Good for you that you got ready.... Me,, I forgot all about it. I have been so busy since we got back from Las Vegas that it completely slipped my mind.

Getting old=forgetting

Again, SO relieved to hear the girls are doing okay. We all need our faith to be rewarded sometimes. :)

All you supermoms doing such cute things. I hope I can be cool like that too. I used to be really into St. Patrick's day: listening to Irish music, watching Far and Away, wearing green.
Okay, I guess that isn't THAT obsessive. But I do want to continue with the music tradition when the kids come.

I really wanted to do the fruit rainbow, but was too lazy, sick, and tired to go buy all that fruit and make it look cool, so you'll have to let us know how it turned out.

You sure are amazing!

I love the rainbow! I imagine a fruit pizza could be done similarly. You could even shape the crust like a rainbow.

I made green whole wheat waffles this morning. Then I put green dye in the toilet and told Mica and Isaak that a leprechaun stopped by our house and had to go potty. Mica wanted to call everyone of our family members to tell them.

I'm glad your girls seem to be getting better. It's no fun being sick!

That fruity platter with the marshmallows is so creative! I love it.

We didn't do anything this year but this makes me want to make some delish foods next year!
