Today I Wasn't Very Adventuresome.

Day 10 of the 30 Day Challenge.
Well, I'm supposed to post a pic of the person I do the most adventurous things with, but my adventures right now involve babies, bugs, grass, dirt, rocks, trees, and other such things we can find in our backyard. To be honest, I'm not sure you could have ever called me an adventurer at any point in my life.
But I have to give a nod to my dear friend Lilana. She's from Mexico City. We served as missionaries together in Houston for a short but very fun time. We were roommates and basically together 24/7. Our adventures? We got almost mugged right at our front door one night. Scared us spit-less. We endured a Nigerian man who borderline stalked poor Lilana and persistently proposed marriage to her. Drove her crazy! We saved several baby kittens. We went bowling a lot. We walked all over Alief (a rather ghetto place in Houston, Texas) without fear, no matter the time of day or night. I would never do that now! We laughed, talked, and giggled a lot. I'm sure there is plenty I'm forgetting. I'll have to direct her to this post and beg her to remind me of any "adventures" that have slipped my mind.

I know I have more pictures, but I don't know where.

Have you been on any exciting adventures?

Gosh....some crazy adventures....backing my friend's parents station wagon into a ditch (before I had my learner's licence), taking off from a small town in England on the bus to Manchester.....and many more....so lucky I didn't get kidnapped or killed!

I think that's plenty of adventure!! Sounds like a great mission!!! My son is coming home from his mission in Oaxaca Mexico this August!!!

He sounds more Hispanic than American It's funny how his English went down the drain only after two years HA!

We all need a little bit o adventure at some point in our lives. Mission stories are the best.

I'm not very adventurous either.

I'd say the most adventurous things I've done were to go to Savannah, Georgia for grad school myself. I only had two HUGE suitcases and a carry on bag. It's hours away and I was only on a plane 1 other time in my life.

I also was adventurous when I took the city bus and subway in Atlanta all over! I never had taken a city bus anywhere. We don't have a subway system in Nebraska. I had to walk at night by myself too! Scary! I carried a pocket knife just in case someone tried to rape or kill me.

...and then the baby kittens and mama kitten got taken away (only can guess what happened) because we requested that someone come and fix our vacuum that was full of your hair...sad.

Jamie,

I can only imagine adventure, excitement, and fun when I think of mission work. It is great to have memories like that w/a friend.

My life has been quite uneventful lately, which is kind of nice, but only means I haven't been getting much done.

i am not so adventure-some, the most adventure i did in my single years was try a new exotic restaurant and ordering something I have never heard of before. and i was lucky i too had a friend like yours whom i got along with to have those adventures with.
