I wonder if Britt is growing (doesn't that make kids more klutzy?). It seems like she has been falling down or running into things all day. She's been so accident prone the past few weeks and today was the worst. She won't stop climbing up on top of everything and at lunch she fell over with her chair. She bumped her forehead, bit her lip, and got her chubby knees stuck in between the slats of the chair (bruised them too). She cried for a long time and wouldn't let me put her down for a good 15 minutes. Nana made her a bottle for comfort, which Britt held in her arms. But she just preferred sucking her fingers. Tony really doesn't like that she does that. I love it. It's so cute and it calms her down so quickly. And unlike a binky, she can't lose her fingers nor do they cost anything. She's always got her fingers in her mouth. And it's always the right hand, never the left.
This is the earliest picture I have of Britt sucking her fingers (and the only one where it's her left hand because she switched shortly after). She's 3.5 months here.
Here are some adorable pictures I caught of her, with her beloved fingers, a couple Sundays ago.
Think it'll ruin her teeth? If she takes after her daddy, it won't. He sucked the same fingers for years as a child and his teeth are fine.

Oh I LOVE those photos!
I two was a two finger sucker. I got braces, but most people do now a days.
I wonder if she's cutting any crazy molars? We took Mica to the dentist and didn't even realize that he has new teeth back there!
It's also allergy season; that always throws my balance off!
Ooooo so cute! It's always the middle and ring fingers that are in her mouth. Are they the tastiest of all her 5 fingers?
Naomi sucks her thumb and our dentist said not to worry about it because most kids out grow it by five and the teeth will fix themselves. If she doesn't quit by five then I would worry.
Brit is just so adorable with her eyes so bright like that, and sucking two middle fingers.
Mark and Brit on the same boat, climbing and falling all the time. Mark has bumps and bruises to prove this.
Does sucking fingers really ruin their teeth? Mark stopped sucking his fingers on his own. Before I too was worried about his teeth.
OH goodness... I am going to eat her.
Oh my gosh, this is precious!
I was a thumb sucker. And I turned out just fine.
Still needed braces though.
Don't sweat it. Finger suckers are awesome self-soothers, I'm told and which I'm sure you already know. She can get over it when she's old enough.
When I finally quit, my Dad put medical tape on my thumb so I couldn't suck it. I don't remember too much of it which is a good sign I guess. it means I wasn't traumatized. I do remember it taking less time to quit the habit than I thought it would.
That's so precious. Her teeth will be fine one way or another ... that's just so sweet.
she is such a cutie pie.
She's such a cutie.
